ABOUT US / BYLAWS

Mission Statement
The Fairfield Footlighters is a non-profit Ohio Corporation. Said Corporation is organized exclusively for charitable, religious, educational and scientific purposes, including, for such purposes, the making of distributions to organizations that qualify under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or the corresponding section of any future federal tax code.

Members donate their time and talents to bring live theatre to the residents of the greater Fairfield area. We are committed to making the theatrical experience more accessible to the public, and to provide more opportunities for young artists to enhance their dramatic skills. Our mission is to help Fairfield, and surrounding areas, grow in knowledge, appreciation and enthusiasm for the theatre arts.

Some of our goals are:

  • To produce NEW plays instead of plays that have been "recycled" by other theatre groups in the area.
  • To give local area playwrights a chance to have their work produced for the first time.
  • To give both young and "not so young" local budding actors an opportunity to display their talents.

Membership
Annual membership fees will be as follows:

  • $10.00 for Individual Membership.
  • $20.00 for Family Membership.

Lifetime membership fees will be as follows:

  • $75.00 for Individual Membership.
  • $150.00 for Family Membership.

All participants in a Fairfield Footlighters production will be required to be paid members. All regular members will have voting rights within the organization as outlined by the Constitution. By paying dues and becoming a member, you agree to adhere to these Bylaws.

Code of Conduct
Members participating in a Fairfield Footlighters event or representing the Fairfield Footlighters in a public forum will conduct themselves professionally at all times. They will in no way engage in conduct that would reflect detrimentally on this group. They will at all times behave courteously to the public and other members.

This is a family oriented organization and we encourage participation by all family members. Members will be responsible for the actions of their children and guests at all Fairfield Footlighters functions. If any guest becomes disruptive at an event, it is the member's responsibility to insure that the guest ceases the disruptive behavior. Should disruptive behavior continue, any Production Leader, at their discretion, may ask the guest to leave the function. For members under the age of fourteen participating in a Fairfield Footlighters production or related events, there must be an adult present to supervise throughout the event or production.

All complaints of inappropriate behavior that cannot otherwise be resolved may be taken to the Board of Directors. To avoid embarrassment to any member, the Board will hold a closed meeting to discuss the complaint. If the Board feels it is a legitimate complaint, the President of the Board will appoint a Fact Finding Disciplinary Committee made up of three Board Members. If the President is the one named in the complaint, then the Vice President will appoint the committee.

The Disciplinary Committee will investigate the complaint and, in a closed Board meeting, make a suggestion of the appropriate action to be taken. If the Committee agrees that action is necessary, they will disclose the complaint in an open Board meeting with its resolution. By paying dues, all members agree to adhere to any disciplinary action agreed to by the Board. Failure to do so will be cause for expulsion from the Fairfield Footlighters and forfeiture of all dues and privileges enjoyed by members.
